North Palm Beach

A dredged waterfront village on land John D. MacArthur bought in 1954

About North Palm Beach

North Palm Beach was cut from land that passed from Harry Kelsey to Sir Harry Oakes and then to John D. MacArthur, who paid $5.5 million for 2,600 acres of the Oakes estate in 1954. The village incorporated two years later, built on dredged mangrove and farmland, and nearly two fifths of its area is water, which is what the dredging bought. Its golf course began in 1926 as the Palm Beach Winter Club, laid out by Seth Raynor. The village acquired it in 1962, and Jack Nicklaus redesigned it, reopening in 2006.

Averages are weighted as total dollars over total square feet. We calculate averages based on closed sales in the MLS for the past 12 months, as of September 14, 2026. Averages are based on properties that are listed or sold for $350,000 and greater. Additional reports at all price points are available here. Price-per-square-foot figures are rounded to the nearest dollar, up or down. Where fewer than 5 closed sales exist in the window, we report the count rather than an average.
