Highland Beach

An oceanfront town between Boca Raton and Delray Beach

Highland Beach real estate, every condo, every home and every sale, by Mark Zilbert.

About Highland Beach

Highland Beach runs about 2.8 miles down the barrier island between Delray Beach and Boca Raton, a strip of some 397 acres with the Atlantic on one side and the Intracoastal Waterway on the other. Twenty-one voters incorporated it in 1949, naming it for ground that stood 20 to 25 feet above the tide line, higher than the dunes nearby. State Road A1A runs its length on a right of way 100 feet wide. The town's future land use plan carries no commercial or industrial designation at all, and building heights run from 35 feet in the single-family districts to 50 feet in the highest density one.

Averages are weighted as total dollars over total square feet. We calculate averages based on closed sales in the MLS for the past 12 months, as of October 29, 2026. Averages are based on properties that are listed or sold for $350,000 and greater. Additional reports at all price points are available here. Price-per-square-foot figures are rounded to the nearest dollar, up or down. Where fewer than 5 closed sales exist in the window, we report the count rather than an average.
