About North Fort Lauderdale

The city's northeast quarter, east of US 1 and north of Sunrise Boulevard, is a run of canal subdivisions laid between the Middle River and the Intracoastal Waterway, and almost all of it was built after the Second World War. Antioch College, which inherited 112 acres from Hugh Taylor Birch, platted its Sunrise tract in February 1952, pumping more than a million cubic yards of dredged rock over the ground. Haft-Gaines planned The Landings in 1960 and opened model homes in the spring of 1962, sold with the waterfront lot and dock included.

Averages are weighted as total dollars over total square feet. We calculate averages based on closed sales in the MLS for the past 12 months, as of September 15, 2026. Averages are based on properties that are listed or sold for $350,000 and greater. Additional reports at all price points are available here. Price-per-square-foot figures are rounded to the nearest dollar, up or down. Where fewer than 5 closed sales exist in the window, we report the count rather than an average.
