About Weston
Weston is a city of about 68,100 residents at the western edge of Broward County, where I-75 meets I-595 beside the Everglades. Arvida founder Arthur Vining Davis took control of about 15,000 acres here in the 1950s, Arvida planned the ground as Indian Trace and renamed it Weston in the early 1980s, the first homes went up in Country Isles and Windmill Ranch in 1984, and the city incorporated in 1996. It is a master-planned city of lakes, golf and guard-gated communities: Weston Hills Country Club, with 36 holes by Robert Trent Jones Jr., Savanna, with about 2,800 homes, The Ridges, Windmill Ranch Estates, on lots of one to 15 acres, and Bonaventure, with its own development district. Weston Town Center and the 102-acre Weston Regional Park sit at its center. Broward County Public Schools runs Cypress Bay High, which serves most of the city, and private schools include Sagemont and Weston Christian Academy. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is about 18 miles east and downtown Miami about 31 miles. We follow Weston's sales and listings across its communities.
