About Pembroke Pines

Pembroke Pines is a city of about 171,200 residents in southwest Broward County. Its name goes back to 1882, when Sir Edward J. Reed, a British member of Parliament for Pembroke, formed the company that bought this swampland and cut the road through it that became Pembroke Road. Dairy farms held the land until the first subdivisions were platted in 1954, and the village of 1960 became a city in 1961. Neighborhoods run from single-family streets to gated and master-planned communities: Pembroke Falls, Grand Palms around its golf course, Chapel Trail with the guard-gated Keystone Lake on a 143-acre lake, Pembroke Shores, the Pembroke Pines side of SilverLakes, and Century Village, a 55-and-over condominium community. Its median value for owner-occupied homes is about $439,500. Pembroke Lakes Mall and the 299-acre C.B. Smith Park, with its Paradise Cove water park, are landmarks, and Broward College has a campus in the city's Academic Village. The city has run its own charter schools since 1998, and Charles W. Flanagan and West Broward are its district high schools. I-75 and the Turnpike serve it, with Miami International about 21 miles away. We cover the city's houses, townhomes and condos.

Averages are weighted as total dollars over total square feet. We calculate averages based on closed sales in the MLS for the past 12 months, as of October 30, 2026. Averages are based on properties that are listed or sold for $350,000 and greater. Additional reports at all price points are available here. Price-per-square-foot figures are rounded to the nearest dollar, up or down. Where fewer than 5 closed sales exist in the window, we report the count rather than an average.
