Palmetto Bay

A bayfront village along Old Cutler Road, at the Deering Estate

About Palmetto Bay

Palmetto Bay lies along Old Cutler Road south of Pinecrest, on the bay side of US 1, and it grew out of the same 1995 petition that took the Kings Bay neighborhood into Coral Gables. Its landmark is the Deering Estate at Cutler, 444 acres on Biscayne Bay that Charles Deering, chairman of International Harvester, made his winter home from 1922 until his death there in 1927. The Richmond Cottage on the site dates from 1900 and the Stone House was finished in 1922. Florida bought the property in 1985 and the National Register listed it in March 1986.

Averages are weighted as total dollars over total square feet. We calculate averages based on closed sales in the MLS for the past 12 months, as of September 15, 2026. Averages are based on properties that are listed or sold for $350,000 and greater. Additional reports at all price points are available here. Price-per-square-foot figures are rounded to the nearest dollar, up or down. Where fewer than 5 closed sales exist in the window, we report the count rather than an average.
