Ocean Ridge

An oceanfront town across the Intracoastal from Boynton Beach

About Ocean Ridge

Ocean Ridge is the barrier island town opposite Boynton Beach, about three quarters of a square mile of land with the Atlantic on one side and the Intracoastal on the other, and three bridged islands at its north end. It held the name Boynton Beach first. The oceanfront landowners split from the mainland Town of Boynton in 1931 and took that name, then gave it up in 1939 after a naming contest, because mail kept going astray to Daytona Beach. The mainland town adopted the vacated name two years later. A bridge has crossed at Ocean Avenue since 1911.

Averages are weighted as total dollars over total square feet. We calculate averages based on closed sales in the MLS for the past 12 months, as of September 10, 2026. Averages are based on properties that are listed or sold for $350,000 and greater. Additional reports at all price points are available here. Price-per-square-foot figures are rounded to the nearest dollar, up or down. Where fewer than 5 closed sales exist in the window, we report the count rather than an average.
