La Gorce Island

A gated island in Biscayne Bay, bridged from North Bay Road

About La Gorce Island

La Gorce Island lies in Biscayne Bay off the La Gorce neighborhood, reached by one bridge from North Bay Road at a staffed gatehouse, with a single road looping the shore. Carl Fisher named it, like the golf club and the neighborhood, for John Oliver La Gorce of the National Geographic Society. The island marks the northern limit of the city's La Gorce and Lakeview improvement project, which is rebuilding the roads, drainage and seawalls through this part of Mid-Beach. Houses are single family throughout, on interior lots and on waterfront lots with private dockage.

Averages are weighted as total dollars over total square feet. We calculate averages based on closed sales in the MLS for the past 12 months, as of June 25, 2026. Averages are based on properties that are listed or sold for $350,000 and greater. Additional reports at all price points are available here. Price-per-square-foot figures are rounded to the nearest dollar, up or down. Where fewer than 5 closed sales exist in the window, we report the count rather than an average.
