Hillsboro Beach

A three-mile peninsula town with one road and the Hillsboro light

About Hillsboro Beach

Hillsboro Beach is a peninsula town about three miles long and, by the town's own account, no more than nine hundred feet across at its widest, with a single road running its whole length. The Hillsboro Inlet closes it at the south end, and the lighthouse there stands inside the town limits despite a postal address that reads Pompano Beach. It is an octagonal iron skeleton tower, fabricated in Detroit and first lit in 1907, and it joined the National Register in 1979. The town counts about fifty houses, with condominiums making up the rest and no commercial building at all.

Averages are weighted as total dollars over total square feet. We calculate averages based on closed sales in the MLS for the past 12 months, as of August 28, 2026. Averages are based on properties that are listed or sold for $350,000 and greater. Additional reports at all price points are available here. Price-per-square-foot figures are rounded to the nearest dollar, up or down. Where fewer than 5 closed sales exist in the window, we report the count rather than an average.
