About West Fort Lauderdale

Everything west of US 1, and the part of the city with the deepest history. Two of Fort Lauderdale's three local historic districts are here. Sailboat Bend, designated by ordinance in 1992, sits inside the sharpest bend of the New River south of Broward Boulevard and holds more than 550 buildings from the early 1900s to the 1950s. The Himmarshee Street district downtown covers about seventeen early commercial properties. The New River Inn of 1905 and the 1923 Croissant Park Administration Building, by the architect Francis Abreu, are both on the National Register.

Averages are weighted as total dollars over total square feet. We calculate averages based on closed sales in the MLS for the past 12 months, as of September 15, 2026. Averages are based on properties that are listed or sold for $350,000 and greater. Additional reports at all price points are available here. Price-per-square-foot figures are rounded to the nearest dollar, up or down. Where fewer than 5 closed sales exist in the window, we report the count rather than an average.
