Boynton Beach

The city between Delray Beach and Lantana on the Intracoastal

About Boynton Beach

Boynton Beach takes its name from Nathan Smith Boynton, a former Union major from Port Huron, Michigan, who first saw the place in 1894, bought 400 acres with a mile of oceanfront, and came back to settle the following year. His hotel opened in 1897 on the barrier island, in what is now Ocean Ridge, and came down in 1925. The town incorporated in 1920 as Boynton and became Boynton Beach in 1941. Addison Mizner designed the Woman's Club here in 1925, the only work of his in the city, and it joined the National Register in 1979.

Averages are weighted as total dollars over total square feet. We calculate averages based on closed sales in the MLS for the past 12 months, as of September 16, 2026. Averages are based on properties that are listed or sold for $350,000 and greater. Additional reports at all price points are available here. Price-per-square-foot figures are rounded to the nearest dollar, up or down. Where fewer than 5 closed sales exist in the window, we report the count rather than an average.
